Arrival in Tanzania

Moshi to Mandara Hut
- After breakfast, drive to Marangu Gate (1,860m/6,102ft) to complete park registration.
- Begin the trek through the rainforest to Mandara Hut (2,700m/8,858ft).
- Enjoy the lush vegetation and wildlife along the way.
- Dinner and overnight stay at Mandara Hut.
Mandara Hut to Horombo Hut
- Continue the ascent through the heather and moorland zones of the mountain.
- Pass through Maundi Crater and enjoy stunning views of the surrounding landscapes.
- Reach Horombo Hut (3,720m/12,205ft) for dinner and overnight stay.
Acclimatization at Horombo Hut
- Spend the day at Horombo Hut for acclimatization.
- Take a short hike to Zebra Rocks or explore the area to adjust to the altitude.
- Rest and prepare for the next day's climb.
- Dinner and overnight stay at Horombo Hut.
Horombo Hut to Kibo Hut
- Continue the trek to Kibo Hut (4,703m/15,430ft) across the Alpine Desert zone.
- The scenery becomes more rugged and barren as you approach the Kibo area.
- Rest and early sleep to prepare for the summit attempt.
- Dinner and overnight stay at Kibo Hut.
Summit Day - Kibo Hut to Uhuru Peak to Horombo Hut
- Begin the summit attempt around midnight, aiming to reach Uhuru Peak (5,895m/19,341ft) at sunrise.
- Trek through the steep and challenging Gilman's Point to Stella Point.
- From Stella Point, proceed to Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa.
- Take in the breathtaking views from the summit, then descend back to Kibo Hut.
- After a short rest, continue down to Horombo Hut for dinner and well-deserved rest.
Horombo Hut to Marangu Gate and Departure
- Descend to Marangu Gate, passing through the heather and rainforest zones.
- Complete the necessary paperwork and receive your summit certificates.
- Transfer back to Moshi for a celebratory meal and relaxation.
- Departure from Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) or extend your stay for further exploration.
